Harold shares top honor in Orange Coast League
Sage Hill School senior boys’ water polo goalie Danny Harold was named Co-Most Valuable Player of the Orange Coast League for the recently completed season.
Harold was joined on the first team by Lightning seniors Beau Caillouette and Jimmy Miller, as well as junior Tucker Pettis.
Costa Mesa seniors Sam Edman and Skyler Twohig also made the first team, as did Estancia senior Jeff Crosson.
Harold made 212 saves on the season to help Sage Hill (15-7, 4-2 in league) make the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs for the second straight year.
Caillouette scored a team-high 59 goals, while Miller put in 50 and Pettis had 28 goals and 25 steals.
All four Sage Hill players are repeat first-team honorees, as is Twohig.
Twohig scored a team-high 94 goals, including one in every game but one for the Mustangs (15-11, 2-4).
The versatile Edman had 62 goals, led the team with 60 assists and was second with 59 steals.
Representing Sage Hill on the second team were senior Ryan Barth and sophomores Andrew Dorne and Jake Blitzer.
Costa Mesa junior twins Cody and Dustin Serrano also made the second team, as did Estancia senior Josh Young.
Barth played stellar defense for the Lightning, while Dorne totaled 26 goals.
Dustin Serrano had 36 goals and a team-high 78 steals. Cody Serrano finished with 56 goals, 41 assists and 71 steals.
Harold shares the league MVP award with Laguna Beach senior Pierre Masson. Masson scored 91 goals in helping the Breakers to their second straight league title.
