Robert L, Lyons

LYONS, Robert L., 75, passed away November 23, 2007. He was born January 1, 1932, the son of George and Mackey Lyons of Anaheim, California. He graduated from Anaheim High School in 1950. At UCLA he was in the Air Force ROTC and upon graduation received his Bachelor of Arts in history and his commission as a 2^nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Following his tour of duty, Bob taught social studies at Walter Reed Junior High School in North Hollywood. He transferred to Newport Harbor High School and then to Corona del Mar High School until his retirement in 1988. He earned a Master’s degree at CSU Long Beach. Bob enjoyed music, reading, fine dining, gardening, art, travel and following the UCLA Bruins.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Nancy Collinson Lyons, nephews and nieces, Philip and Mary Lyons of Newport Beach, Ann Stubblefield of Nashville, Tennessee, Craig and Gigi Lyons of Newport Beach and Dana Lyons of Brisbane, Australia and a multitude of friends and fellow educators.

Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be contributed in the name of Robert Lyons to the Pacific Chorale, 3621 South Harbor Blvd., Suite 220, Santa Ana, CA 92704, or to the charity of your choice.
