Ramzee Robinson, Mr. Irrelevant XXXII as the last player picked in the NFL Draft, was signed from the Detroit Lions practice squad and will be on the active roster in Detroit’s big road game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings with playoff implications.

This will be Robinson’s second appearance with Detroit (6-5), which holds the NFC’s final playoff wild-card spot with the Vikings, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints each one-game back at 5-6.

Robinson’s first appearance was in the Lions’ 23-16 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 21. On the Lions’ first kick-off, he recorded his first tackle and finished with two special teams tackles.

Robinson, a cornerback drafted No. 255 in the seventh round out of the University of Alabama, joins the Lions after cornerback Stanley Wilson suffered a season-ending knee injury during a 37-26 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. Wilson was placed on the injured reserve list, opening up a roster spot for Robinson.

Robinson’s first opportunity also came when Wilson sat out the Tampa Bay game with a groin injury. Now Robinson is hoping he plays with the Lions for good.
