Bra designer to support national cancer awareness

Wacoal, a luxury bra designer, plans to hold fitting events at each of Newport-Mesa’s Bloomingdale’s locations this week to raise money for breast cancer research and treatment.

Today at Fashion Island and Friday at South Coast Plaza, the designer will offer complimentary fittings in Wacoal, DKNY Underwear and Donna Karan Intimates brands from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For every woman participating, Wacoal will donate $2 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a nationwide breast cancer research nonprofit, along with an additional $2 for every Wacoal, DKNY Underwear and Donna Karan Intimates bra purchased during the fitting.

Bloomingdale’s customers can also sign up to receive a monthly e-mail reminder to do a self-breast exam.
