CORONA DEL MAR – Danielle Kaiden, the Sea Kings’ No. 2 singles player, swept her sets without dropping a game in the nonleague match pitting CIF champions from a year ago Wednesday at Corona del Mar High.
Lindsay Zotovich and Karen Ishii swept at No. 1 doubles for the Sea Kings (13-2), last year’s CIF Southern Section Division I champions that are ranked No. 3 this season.
Valencia, ranked No. 1 in Division IV, won the CIF Division IV title last year.
Corona del Mar returns to Pacific Coast League action at Laguna Hills today at 3 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors swept all nine singles sets and won eight doubles sets in the lopsided Sunset League victory Tuesday at Newport Harbor High.
Emily Gelbaum and Liz Cramer each won three times in singles for Newport Harbor (11-3, 4-2 in league). So did the doubles teams of Allie Shea and Avalon Sigalos, and Ariana Small and Natalie Cernius.
The Sailors play at Esperanza today.

COSTA MESA — Senior Jeff Crosson led Estancia High with four goals in an Orange Coast League loss to Laguna Beach Wednesday.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors pitched their first shutout of the season Wednesday at Newport Harbor High in a Sunset League match.
Clinton Jorth had a team-high three goals for Newport (17-2, 3-0 in league).
Colin McKibbin, Andy Hayes and David Linden each added two goals for the Tars, the top-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.
Newport Harbor plays host to Back Bay rival CdM on Saturday at 5 p.m.

NEWPORT COAST — Setter Hannalyn Hunt had 23 assists in Sage Hill’s 25-10, 22-25, 25-12, 25-21 loss to its Academy League rival Wednesday.
Opposite hitter Hayden Furey and middle blocker Tierney Danner both added seven kills for the Lightning (4-12, 3-2 in league).
Sage Hill plays at Whitney Friday at 6 p.m.

COSTA MESA — The Sea Kings won their last regular-season match against San Juan Hills Wednesday as sophomore Tess Crane shot a 12-over-par 45 to lead the team on Costa Mesa Country Club’s Los Lagos course.
Kelly Moorhead (46) and Monica Phan (46) followed, and Katharine Hanson, Amanda Johnson, and Ashley Varner all shot 48. Alternate Savannah Onal shot 53.
The Sea Kings finished Pacific Coast League play in third place with a 6-4 record, which qualified them for the CIF team divisionals. The divisionals will be held in Chino at El Prado Golf Course Oct. 29.
The Sea Kings compete in the league finals Tuesday and Wednesday at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course at 9 a.m.
Sage Hill 249, Oxford 334
IRVINE — Amy Babbush shot 9-over-par 45 to earn medalist honors for the Lightning in an Academy League match at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course Wednesday.
Sara White shot her best round of the year for Sage Hill (4-7, 4-4 Academy League) with 46, and Kelsey Venditozzi shot 48.
Kimmy Venditozzi finished with 52, Sara Anderson had 58, and Christy Lee shot 64.
The Lightning will compete in the league finals Monday at San Clemente Golf Course.
