Orange Coast def. Fullerton

COSTA MESA — Jacqi Reed had 26 kills and 15 digs to lead the Pirates in an Orange Empire Conference matchup of the top two teams in the state.

Jessica Roy had 11 kills and Rebecca Lowe 10 for OCC (9-1, 3-0 in conference), ranked No. 1 in the state. Emily Lyon amassed 53 assist and Kayla Cutler had 25 digs for the Pirates.

Nicole Coffer led Fullerton (9-2, 2-1) with 21 kills.

UC Irvine def. Pacific

IRVINE — The Anteaters swept the Pacific Tigers in a Big West Conference match Friday, 30-23, 30-24, 30-26.

Kari Pestolesi had 12 kills and Lauren Kellerman had 11 kills for UC Irvine (13-6, 3-1 in conference).

Taryn Robertson had 41 assists for UCI and Devon Sutherland had 11 digs.

Santa Ana 3, Orange Coast 2

SANTA ANA — Jarred Balbas and Brady Condon scored a goal each for the Pirates in their Orange Empire Conference match Friday.

OCC (5-4-3, 1-2-1 in conference) had a 2-1 lead with a man advantage, but the Pirates were unable to hold on. Balbas scored in the 25th minute, while Condon connected in the 69th. Goalie Joey Balbas had seven saves for OCC.

Santa Ana improved to 7-4-2, 2-1-1.

The Pirates play host to Cypress Tuesday at 3 p.m.

UC Irvine 1, San Francisco 0

SAN FRANCISCO — Kim Horn scored in the 104th minute to give the Anteaters the nonconference double-overtime victory Friday.

Caty Cope provided the assist. Goalkeeper Danielle de Seriere had seven saves and posted her fifth shutout of the season for the Anteaters (6-3-1).

Cypress 4, Orange Coast 1

COSTA MESA — Loren Kortizija scored the Pirates’ goal in the Orange Empire Conference match Friday.

In the 76th minute, she hooked a corner kick over the Cypress wall and over the head of Chargers goalkeeper Kassandra Imbrogno, who finished with five saves.

OCC (1-8-2, 1-4-2 in conference) missed some first-half opportunities, against the Chargers (9-1-3, 5-1-1).

IRVINE — Orange Coast College’s Crystal Reed won the women’s race, but the Pirates suffered a defeat for the first time in six years Friday at Irvine Park.

Reed finished in 18 minutes, 7 seconds.

Glendale edged Orange Coast, 40-51.
