YOUTH SCENE:Slammers win Mission title

The Newport-Beach based Slammers FC under-12 boys’ soccer team won the 2007 Mission Viejo Invitational on Aug. 6.

The Slammers went undefeated in pool play, advancing to defeat San Diego’s PQ Premier in the final, 4-1.

They outscored their opponents by a dominant margin of 19-2 for the tournament.

Contributing for the Slammers were Riccardo Antonelli, Andrew Chase, Will Cline, Charlie Coffman, Blake Flamson, Hale Furey, Ethan Hold, Ben Humphreys, Jeff Johnston, Luis Leon, Jack Molnar, Alex Moore, Alonso Moran, John O’Connor, Kavi Sakraney and Bo St. Geme. Brian Sjollema coached the team.
