Dominican 2, Vanguard 1

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Freshman Danielle Dintino scored on an assist from junior Katheryn Romero in the 26th minute and the visiting Lions led until the 75th minute only to see the nonconference season opener slip away Monday at Forest Meadows Field.

Junior Jillian Foss had five saves for Vanguard, which matched the hosts with 15 shots.

Dintino had three shots, while freshman Christy Horning, Romero, sophomore Michelle Davis and freshman Kaitlin McGhee all added two shots for the visitors.

Alicia Paulsen made seven saves for the winners.

Vanguard plays host to the Oregon Institute of Technology Thursday at 7 p.m.
