Holiday travel at JWA expected to start today
John Wayne Airport officials are anticipating heavier passenger travel for the Fourth of July holiday beginning today and running through July 9.
With the holiday falling midweek, the airport and Transportation Security Administration expects additional high-traffic days and will increase staff in the lobby and at screening lines accordingly.
Passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours before their departure time and to seek alternative methods of transportation to and from the airport, as parking lots are expected to fill quickly.
Airport officials remind travelers that fireworks are prohibited, and carry-on liquids, gels and aerosols are limited to three ounces and must be packed in a clear, quart-sized plastic bag.
Passengers can check parking availability by calling (949) 252-5000.
