Stars skate past Slashers

The Stars scored twice in every period and had more than enough on offense to complete a 6-3 victory over the Slashers in a Norris Division match at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Aaron Cree and Joseph Loya led the Stars in scoring with three and two goals, respectively. Nick Callanan also scored and Loya and Connor Mellema each had an assist.

Ryan Osterkamp scored twice, Alexander Gomez once and Tanner Osterkamp and Derreck Chang had assists for the Slashers.

In other Norris Division action:

Kings 3, Falcons 2

The Falcons came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the score but lost on a goal by the Kings’ Jake Shaylor in the final 11 minutes of the match.

Shaylor scored off an assist from Jake Gealy who had scored the Kings’ first two goals.

Alex Buyan and Tyler McLuckey also had assists and Tyler Gealy finished with 15 saves.

Aaron Maccabi scored both Falcons goals, Aigne McGeady-Bruce had an assist and Thomas Wirth recorded 21 saves.

Breakers 4, Lightning 2

Chris Pabitzky scored the final two goals of the match to lift the Breakers past the Lightning.

Pabitzky finished with a match-high three goals. Mackie Albertson also scored and had an assist, Ian Gibbons had an assist and Jesse Mellema had 19 saves.

Nicholas Thompson scored once with an assist, Brett Rudy scored once, Daniel Chladek and Chris Chen were credited with assists and Alex McCabe had 15 saves.

SWAT 5, Hot Shotz 4

SWAT outscored the Hot Shotz, 2-0, in the third period to rally for the win.

Casey Brecher scored twice, getting his second goal in the third period, Joe Gibb scored the final goal and Joshua Wagoner and Weston Bechtold scored earlier in the match.

Gibb, Wagoner, Kyle Kowalski and Peter Skowron all had assists.

Dylan Rodriguez finished with 18 saves.

Matthew Manning scored three of the four Hot Shotz goals, the other posted by Alexander Taros. Jordan Bonner and Alec Lang each had an assist and Dillon Millar recorded 23 saves.
