SHORT TAKES:Company gives residents real estate breakdown
To educate residents about their local real estate market, Hom Real Estate Group has published a book with listings from a number of Newport Beach and Laguna Beach neighborhoods, with an expanded version online.
“The intent was to clarify the public’s understanding of what actually transpired in the marketplace in 2006,” Hom managing director Rob Giem said. “Between what’s printed in the newspaper, what happened in reality and what gets discussed between neighbors and friends, there’s a tremendous amount of variables there and inconsistencies and inaccuracies, and we feel strongly as a company that the future of this business relies heavily on our ability to provide a level of service” based consumer demands.
The book is also reflective of the changing real estate investor in the area. These days they may be looking for more than an agent’s calendar or notepad to entice them to buy.
The book has every home sold in the neighborhoods last year and includes the address, number of days on the market, listing price and selling price.
“At the root of everything is information,” Giem said. “If they’re more informed and more confident, they’re more inclined to buy.”
But along with the technical information, the book also features aerial and boat photography, as well as testimonials from local residents.
