Pucks polish off Sharks, 7-0, in division play

The Mighty Pucks scored six goals over the first two periods and went on to polish off the Sharks, 7-0, in Adams Division play Friday at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Leon Sandeberg and Nicholas Upstill each scored two goals to pace the Mighty Pucks on offense. Single goals went to AJ Gatto, Jeremy Lee and Christina Kao while Jenna Gatto had an assist.

Dillon Makoff had eight saves as the Mighty Pucks defense recorded the shutout.

Adam Lang had 18 saves for the Sharks.

Jaguars 2, Penguins 0

The Jaguars’ defense and goalie Braden Robertson shut down the Penguins.

Robertson came up with 12 saves in the match. Despite the Penguins’ Jake Gealy recording 19 saves, the Jaguars were able to slip in two goals, getting one from Emily Gray in the second period and the other from Jeremy Valenzano in the third period.

Kelsey Cullinane assisted Gray’s goal.

Ducks 3, Maple Leafs 1

The Ducks scored the final three goals to shade the Maple Leafs.

Ryan Osborne, Ethan Mack and Nicholas Torres each had a goal. Mack and Torres each also had an assist and Jonah Mack finished with eight saves.

Dylan Hatfield scored the lone Maple Leafs’ goal and Drew Truxaw rounded up 33 saves.

In Howe Division action:

The Meatballs 7, Bulldogs 4

Ethan Loy netted three goals and added an assist and Kristian Burhardt scored twice with a pair of assists as The Meatballs led all the way in beating the Bulldogs.

Wade Sias also scored and Jace Gan had an assist. Blake Walker finished with 23 saves.

Ethan Higbee, Kyle Christi, Zack McDaniel and Chris Martinez scored for the Bulldogs. Assists went to Christi, McDaniel and Shane Williams.

Emmett Jaeger had 15 saves.

Hornets 9, Kings 8

The Hornets outscored the Kings by two goals in the final period to pull out the win.

Alan Plummer, Dylan Rodriguez, Brandon White and John Findley each had two goals and Savannah Patton one for the Hornets. Plummer, Findley and Carson Gibbs each assisted two of those goals and Rodriguez, Braxton Greco and James Shramek each had one assist.

Sean Mastro had 21 saves.

Andrew Leming scored three goals and collected an assist for the Kings. Stephen Goodman scored twice with an assist, Jeremy Corwin scored twice and Auston Leming scored once.

Austin Koss and Dylan Miller combined for 13 saves.
