A man fell from the rocks of Pirates Cove, a small beach just north of Big Corona Beach, after suffering from a diabetic seizure, Newport Beach Police said.

Just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday the unidentified man apparently passed out and fell 10 feet off the rocks to the beach below, Sgt. Lloyd Whisenant said. He was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach and treated, said Jennifer Schulz, spokeswoman for the Newport Beach Fire Dept.

Some witnesses call 911 and lifeguards responded, Schulz said. They put the man in their boat and took him to the Harbor Department headquarters. He was then take to the hospital.
