Newport Harbor 208, El Toro 220NEWPORT BEACH — Andrew Skjonsby was the medalist after shooting a two-over-par 38 in the Sailors’ season opener at Big Canyon Country Club Tuesday.

Newport Harbor’s second-best finisher was Bryce Greeley (40), followed by Dalton Shane (41), Dyllin Shane (44) and Justin Morehead (45).

The Sailors play Dana Hills today at Santa Ana Country Club.

Estancia 209,LONG BEACH — Estancia’s Ryan Knapp was medalist with a three-over-par 39 in the Eagles’ nonleague win Tuesday at El Dorado Park Golf Course.

Also scoring for Estancia (2-0) were Drew Bertoni (40), Pat Flannery (42), Storm Hagen (44) and Andrew Ayala (44). The Eagles play Millikan again Thursday at Mesa Verde.

Mater Dei 183, Sage Hill 201SANTA ANA — Lightning sophomore Steven Choi shot a two-over-par 37 to lead Sage Hill in a nonleague loss Tuesday at Willowick Golf Course.

Also scoring for Sage Hill (0-1) were James Chai (40), Mac Mace (40), Ryan Babbush (42) and Geoffrey Grant (42).

The Lightning open their Academy League season today against Oxford Academy at Anaheim’s Dad Miller Golf Course.
