PORTRAIT OF THE YEAR:Insight into personality
At the Daily Pilot, we shoot many portraits of people in the news and always seek to bring out personality in these photos, while showing readers emotion and environment. We sometimes use small props or simply the person’s surroundings. Readers can use these portraits to learn more about the person and their community.
Our portrait of the year is of a card shark from Corona Del Mar. Kent Treptow used poker chips and cards as a frame to help us see past Jim Davenport’s poker face.
