LONG BEACH — Junior Nick Witte scored a game-high 17 points and dished out nine assists in the Lightning’s fifth-place semifinal victory in the St. Anthony Tournament Friday.
Jamie McGee contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds and six steals for Sage Hill (6-7), which also received 15 points from Preston Oklejas.
The Lightning will face Anaheim today at 4:30 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Michelle Figueroa scored a team-high 15 points and dished out five assists in the Mustangs’ loss in a consolation semifinal of the Costa Mesa Winter Classic Friday.
Amy Gentling added 11 points and Jennifer Courtney grabbed 12 rebounds for the Mustangs (4-8), who will face Fountain Valley today at 10:30 a.m. In other tournament consolation action, Sage Hill lost to Antioch, 34-26.

GARDEN GROVE — The Sea Kings outscored Norwalk 33-18 in the second half, but couldn’t quite complete the comeback Friday in Santiago Tournament pool play at Santiago High.
Ashley Kirby scored a game-high 19 for CdM, and senior Allie Duernberger added 10 points and three three-pointers. Coach Mark Decker said the Sea Kings (6-9) got within three points with a minute left, but an intentional foul call halted their rally.

Brittany Deyan, Lindsay Anderson and Amber Munnelly all scored six points for Newport (4-7), which was outscored by 13 points in the fourth quarter.
