Mutiny shuts down Red Riptide

Mutiny of Region 55 posted a goal in each half and scored a 2-0 victory over the Red Riptides of Region 56 in AYSO girls’ soccer action last weekend.

Mutiny midfielder Katie Gainous scored the only goal of the first half on a short shot setup by teammate Megan Furry.

Gainous also accounted for the game’s other goal, scoring unassisted in the third quarter.

Riptides forwards Jesie Beidleman, Emma Olson and Kelsey Reed helped move the ball up field to pressure Mutiny goalie Ariel Thelander in the first half, but the Red Riptides could not score.

A Mutiny passing attack in the opening half, headed by Mallory Koci and Alex Holloway, set up shots by Simone Corkett and Jeannine Escobar, but each was foiled by Riptides goalie Kendall Miller.

Dana Conlisk, Danielle Kutinsky and Eli Usher combined for seven shots on goal for Mutiny prior to Gainous’ second goal of the match.
