Vanguard men’s basketball separateCOSTA MESA -- Six Vanguard University players scored in double figures to lead the Lions to an 80-57 win over Westmont in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday.
The Lions (9-7, 3-3 in conference) made 10 of 21 three-point attempts (47.6%) and shot 55.8% from the field (29 of 52) to end a 15-game losing streak against the Warriors (11-5, 4-2).
De’Auonte’ Johnson led the winners with 15 points, while Levi Seekins chipped in 13 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
Horace Wormely, Greg Gusiff and Kevin Dalafu had 11 points apiece while Tim Burnette added 10 for Vanguard. Wormely added 16 assists.
Vanguard made 14 of 23 second-half field-goal attempts (60.9%) to secure the win.
