Warning on JWA flight is a false alarm
A Frontier Airlines passenger jet that took off from John Wayne Airport on Tuesday headed for Denver landed at Los Angeles International Airport after the crew observed an indicator light that warned of a possible problem with a cargo door.
No cargo door troubles were found after the jet, an Airbus A-318, landed in Los Angeles, Frontier Airlines spokesman Joe Hodas said. Hodas said it appeared that the light may have been faulty and that passengers were able to continue to Denver on the same jet.
“We checked it out and sent them on their way,” Hodas said.
Hodas said he did not have an exact passenger count for the flight, though tickets for all 114 seats on the Airbus were sold. The jet also carried five crew members.
The jet took off from John Wayne shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, airport spokeswoman Courtney Wiercioch said. Hodas said the plane took off a second time from Los Angeles at about 2:30 p.m.
