Newport seeks float decorators

For $10, residents can spend a day in Duarte and get a Rose Parade T-shirt.The city of Newport Beach is looking for volunteers to help decorate the city’s Rose Parade float on Dec. 17 and during the week of Dec. 26 to 30. Float decorators can work either a morning or afternoon shift; each shift is eight hours. A $10 registration fee includes transportation to and from Duarte (where the float is being built), lunch or dinner and a Rose Parade float T-shirt.

Buses to Duarte will leave at 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. from Bonita Canyon Sports Park at Bonita Canyon Drive and Mesa View. Members of business, social or service groups are invited to sign up together. For information, call (949)718-1856, or register online at www.newport beach100.com.
