Water polo match between Eagles and Mustangs, already postponed once, gets pushed back once more. The Golden West League contest between the Costa Mesa High and Estancia boys’ water polo teams is on hold again.

Estancia Coach John Carpenter said the match, which was scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Santa Ana College, had to be postponed due to insurance liability issues with the college.

Thursday’s cancellation was the second time the match had been postponed. The teams were supposed to meet Sept. 20, but had to reschedule the game because of lightning. The rescheduled game had to be moved when a pump broke down at Costa Mesa’s pool earlier this week.

Carpenter said Costa Mesa High’s pool is supposed to be fixed by today, when the Eagles (11-6, 3-1) are scheduled to host Los Amigos in a nonleague game. The Costa Mesa match has been rescheduled for Nov. 3 at Costa Mesa High at 3 p.m.

Unable to play at their own pool this season, the Eagles have been playing their home games at Costa Mesa High.
