Marathon pledges aid Cade
Here’s a best buy for a much needed cause. On Nov. 6, I will run in
the New York City Marathon. I’m hoping to turn the marathon into a
fundraiser for Cade Feitler, a 13-year-old Newport Beach resident.
Cade, a student at Ensign Intermediate School, was in a terrible
car crash in February and remains hospitalized.
Since the accident, Cade -- a charismatic boy and a natural
fighter -- has endured medical complications, a dozen surgeries,
physical setbacks and rehabilitation. His medical insurance will pay
only so much.
Cade’s family needs help with medical expenses to assist with his
recovery. His family’s insurance policy limits certain medical
treatments that can help with his long rehabilitation. Any
out-of-network providers mean out-of-pocket expenses.
In my own small way, I want to help Cade and his family. And you
can too. If you could pledge $10, $50, $100 or whatever amount you’d
like, we’d both be doing something positive for this wonderful
family. Your contributions will be tax deductible.
Please make checks payable to the Cade Feitler Fund and send them
to Greer Wylder at 1375 Sunflower Ave., Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
The Cade Feitler Fund is a nonprofit public benefit corporation.
I’ll keep you all informed on how the fundraising is going. For more

FEET FOR THE FOUNDATION
The Nail Lounge just opened a few doors down from Blue Springs
Home on East 17th Street in Costa Mesa. It’s a great find for those
who are concerned about sterilization and prefer natural nails.
The store will celebrate its grand opening with a Pink Ribbon
Pedicure party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 6. Profits will go to the
Denise Roberts Breast Cancer Foundation.
Owner Cassie Piasecki will serve up food and drinks and offer free
manicures at the nail bar. Beauty product bags will go to 50 lucky
recipients.
The Pink Ribbon Pedicure will be offered through the month of
October.
The Nail Lounge provides each client with pampering nail care
services and a high level of cleanliness and sterilization.
Individual attention includes scents and applications using
hand-blended soaps, lotions, scrubs and nail polish custom made for
the salon.
“We are set apart from other nail salons by ensuring that every
single tool is either discarded or sterilized in an autoclave between
service,” Piasecki said. “Our thoroughly trained and experienced
professionals are dedicated to creating a good, clean and fun nail
salon experience.”
