Campaigners for Measure F begin calling voters
The campaign for Measure F -- the $282-million school renovation
bond that supporters have hopefully dubbed “Measure Future” -- kicked
off Tuesday evening in a slim office space on Newport Boulevard. Only
six people came to call registered voters, but campaign chairman Mark
Buchanan said he expects the office to fill in coming weeks.
College Park Elementary School Principal Pat Insley and Andersen
Elementary School Principal Mary Manos were among the group Tuesday.
By the end of the evening, all the callers had circled a few names on
the voter lists and marked them as supporters.
The Newport-Mesa Unified School District issued official lists of
proposed projects for each school under Measure F. Among the
renovations are a football stadium at Estancia High School, a
gymnasium at TeWinkle Middle School and a replacement for the closed
Robins Hall at Newport Harbor High School.
