Garage fire under investigation
Newport Beach firefighters put out a fire in a garage on Seashore
Drive at 54th Street on Saturday.
Firefighters responded at 12:42 p.m., after neighbors saw smoke
coming from the garage and called 911. They found no one in the home
but discovered a fire in the garage and were able to put it out
quickly, according to the Newport Beach Fire Department. Costa Mesa
firefighters also responded to the call.
The Newport Beach Fire and Police departments are investigating
the cause of the fire, which is considered suspicious. It caused an
estimated $50,000 in structural damage and $100,000 in property
damage.
