Paper sculpture artist Ron Chespak died June 14 from liver disease.

Chespak, 45, operated the 1254 Art Gallery in Laguna Beach for nine

years, and for the past seven years, he operated the Ron Chespak

Gallery in Palm Springs.

Chespak was recently selected for the Curator’s Choice Award at

the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and his work appears in the

Olly-O children’s book.

He is survived by his parents, Walt and Mary Chespak; brother, Dr.

Larry Chespak; and sister, Leslie Baird.

Chespak’s ashes will be scattered at Laguna Beach in a private

service, and a tribute will be held in his honor on Sept. 10 at the

Palm Springs gallery, in which his three-dimensional paper sculptures

are exhibited.
