William Lyon Homes decides not to sell

A proposal to take Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes private

was rejected by a special committee of the company’s board of

directors, the company announced June 20.

The company’s chairman and controlling stockholder, William Lyon,

announced an offer to buy the company’s outstanding shares in April.

The company formed a committee to consider the proposal after Lyon’s

announcement. The release simply stated that the committee concluded

Lyon’s offer to purchase outstanding common stock at $82 per share

was inadequate.

William Lyon Homes builds homes in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Allergan will distribute Botox in Europe

Costa Mesa-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals International announced

an exclusive agreement with Irvine-based Allergan, Inc. to distribute

Botox in Hungary and Poland. The company expects distribution in

Hungary will begin in July and anticipates distribution in Poland

will start in August. The announcement was made Tuesday, and terms of

the deal were not released.

Digital document firm names new president

Consolidated Reprographics, headquartered in Costa Mesa, announced

in a Wednesday release that Keath Lauderdale has been appointed the

company’s president. Lauderdale was appointed after working as the

firm’s vice president of sales and marketing. He has been a part of

the company’s management team since 1994.

Consolidated Reprographics’ activities include digital document

processing. The firm provides services to architectural, engineering,

construction and development companies.
