Newport Coast resident, Monica Botwinski, strutted her...

Newport Coast resident, Monica Botwinski, strutted her stuff at the

9th Annual Circles of Life Fashion Show on May 15 at the Anaheim

Marriott.

Botwinski is a melanoma survivor, who was treated at the St.

Joseph Hospital of Orange Regional Cancer Center. The annual fashion

show is held every year to celebrate the men and women who have

fought and won the battle against cancer.

Twenty-six Orange County cancer survivors modeled a variety of the

season’s hottest fashions from local retailers.

The fundraiser raised approximately $150,000, which will benefit

St. Joseph Hospital of Orange Regional Cancer Center.

Dennis and Shirlee McDaniels of Costa Mesa announced the birth of

granddaughter McKenna Love Holland McDaniels, born March 10. The

parents, Paul and Cree McDaniels, live in Arlington, Mass.

Newport Harbor High School student Dan Furman, Corona del Mar High

School student Max Ukropina and Costa Mesa High School students

Lincoln Tran and John Dang are among 12 young who will represent

American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 at Cal State Sacramento next

month for a week of learning about government.

There will be approximately 900 to 1,000 young men from around

California attending the event.

Louise and Roy B. Woolsey of Newport Beach celebrated their 64th

wedding anniversary April 18. The happy couple has lived on Lido Isle

since 1960. Roy B. Woolsey is an avid sailor -- he has sailed in the

Flight of the Lasers every year for the past 10 years. He is an

active Rotarian in the Newport Sunrise Rotary Club and once served as

commodore for the Lido Isle Yacht Club.
