Boys & Girls marketing method wins

The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach has earned the Boys & Girls

Clubs of America’s Gold MAC Award in the publications category.

The award, given to the club that has developed the most creative

and compelling publications, was recently presented at BGCA’s 99th

annual national conference in San Diego. The club also received

honors for its advertising efforts and overall marketing strategy.

Winners were chosen from more than 3,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across

the country. The MAC Awards program is sponsored by Tupperware.

“The goal of our marketing efforts is to increase the breadth and

depth of awareness of the vital role our club plays in the community

and the high quality, state-of-the-art programs that we offer

families,” said Carrie Reynolds, board marketing chair for the club.

The driving forces behind the club’s efforts were Reynolds, who

directed the projects, Milt Naylor and Impact Marketing Specialists

who donated all of the printing for the club, and Eyeworks Studio,

who came up with the “eye-catching creatives.”

“The outcome of this plan shows all clubs -- no matter what their

size -- can make people stand up and take notice,” said Kurt

Aschermann, chief marketing officer for BGCAIn recognition of its

outstanding achievement, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach will

receive a $1,000 cash award. The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach

offers an array of enriching after school and summer programs for
