Roller champs
Nicole Chittum scored an unassisted goal in an overtime shootout at
Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach to lift the
Blackhawks past the Hawks, 4-3, in the championship game of the Howe
Division postseason tournament.
It was the second goal of the match for Chittum, whose first goal
tied the match at 3-3 and forced overtime.
Chittum also assisted the first of two goals by Patrick Moan,
which gave the Blackhawks an early, 1-0 lead.
David Stone recorded 34 saves.
The Hawks’ scoring was spread among Alex McCabe, Chas Scott and
Derek Loh.
Jacob Sabraw and Ashley Woody each had an assist and William
Baltazar had 40 saves.

Patrick Division
Wings, 5; Blind, 4
The Wings came up with three goals in the final period to pull out
the win over the Blind.
Goals by Sebastian Rodriguez, Alex Litten and Shaun Ellis overcame
a 3-2 deficit.
Ellis opened the scoring for the Wings, and Matt Korn also had a
goal. Jacob Renaud finished with 21 saves.
Kyle Schneider, Nelson Kays, Matt Buffardi and Aaron Nguyen all
scored unassisted goals for the Blind, and Brandon Kinney had 26
saves.
Norris Division
Hornets, 3; Bruins, 1
Luke Barrett had a goal and an assist as the Hornets led from
start to finish in defeating the Bruins.
Kayden Muzila and Zachary Locke also scored goals.
Tori Gianformaggio had 18 saves.
Manny Banuelos scored unassisted for the Bruins, and Troy Baljeu
had 18 assists.
Wales Division
Cyclones, 2; Blue Crew, 1
Omar Tepayotl and Grant Murchison scored goals as the Cyclones
edged the Blue Crew.
Tim Mraz had an assist, and Anthony Ellis had 27 saves for the
Cyclones.
Shane Patel scored on an assist by Ryan Gallegos, and Charlie
Condron had 18 saves for the Blue Crew.
