Here are some items the Planning Commission considered Monday.

AUTO REPAIR

BUSINESS

A Logan Avenue industrial building will become home to a

transmission repair shop, following approval by the commission in a

4-0 vote with Perkins abstaining. The closest homes to the industrial

facility are buffered from noise by a wall.

WHAT IT MEANS

Orange County Transmissions can move into a 1,760-square-foot

space in the building, which is also home to another auto repair

business. It will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

ELECTION OF

OFFICERS

Bill Perkins, who had been the commission’s vice chairman, was

named chairman in a 3-2 vote with commissioners Eleanor Egan and Donn

Hall dissenting. Hall was elected vice chairman in a unanimous vote.

WHAT IT MEANS

Perkins and Hall will serve one-year terms as officers of the

commission.
