Applicants sought for vacant trustee spot
The Coast Community College District is seeking applicants for the
position of trustee after the death of long-time trustee Paul Berger.
Berger died recently from complications due to lung cancer. He was
82. In November he was reelected to serve a fourth term in the
district.
The district is comprised of Coastline Community College in
Fountain Valley, Golden West College in Huntington Beach and Orange
Coast College in Costa Mesa.
Those who are interested in the position must submit an
application by 5 p.m. March 2. In order to be considered, applicants
must be registered voters, at least 18, residents of Trustee Area 4
and not be disqualified from holding civil office by the Constitution
or any state law. Trustee Area 4 includes areas of Huntington Beach,
Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley.
The board of trustees will interview qualified candidates at a
special meeting March 18, and the selected individual will fill the
position until November 2006. The board is required by law to appoint
a trustee by March 30.
Applications are available online at https://www.cccd.edu and at
