Hamstrings, Team Viagra remain unbeaten

Team Viagra and the South Laguna Hamstrings got out of the gate

quickly in the city’s fall men’s 16 slow pitch softball leagues by

posting successive victories.

A breakdown of Tuesday and Wednesday League action:

Tuesday League

Team Viagra 6, C-Dawgs 3

Greg Shiu delivered a home run and double as Team Viagra ran its

record to 3-0.

Lead-off hitter Cam Hamil hit a double and single for Team Viagra.

Aaron Brower homered and singled for the C-Dawgs.

Courtesy pounded out 17 hits to stay one-half game behind Team

Viagra in the league standings.

Matt Kuerra led the charge with a pair of solo home runs and two

singles. Jeff Pich singled four times, Morgan Burgess hit a home run

and two doubles and Emilio Bernal and Scott Bakkum each homered and

singled.

Steve Dixon’s double and single paced Ganahl Lumber.

Sandpiper 15, Good, Bad & Ugly 4

The bats of Teo Moore, Mike McClure and Art Johnson powered

Sandpiper to its first win.

Moore belted a home run, double and pair of singles, McClure

homered and doubled twice and Johnson hit three singles.

Garrick Gallardo homered for Good, Bad & Ugly.

Wednesday League

Hamstrings 12, Llamas 8

The South Laguna Hamstrings opened league play with a win over the

Llamas.

Joel Harris carried the big bat for the winners with two triples

and two singles -- good for five RBIs.

Mark Christy homered and doubled.

Noel Puffer had a three-run home run and RBI double and leadoff

hitter Jonathan Cohen singled three times for the Llamas.

Hamstrings 4, Arborists 3

The Hamstrings notched their second win of the week by edging the

Arborists.

Blake Pettit notched three times to lead the Hamstrings.

A.J. Voto hit a solo home run for the Arborists.

Compound Fractures 7, Puswatrkylegs 5

Steve Hurst hit a solo homer and triple and leadoff batter Brandy

Faber had three singles in leading Compound Fractures to its first

victory.

The Puswatrkylegs rallied for four runs in its last at-bat behind

a double by Kyle Johnson and triple by Kirk Rittenhouse, while Ethan

Whitney led the team offensively with a trio of singles.

Compound Fractures 10, Arbitech 10

Russ Swarts homered and singled three times as the Compound

Fractures fought Arbitech to a tie.

Mike Sanchez and Mike Stanley each homered and singled for

Arbitech.

Arborists 1, Arbitech 0

Jeff Tankersley limited Arbitech to five singles as the Arborists

held on in the defensive struggle.

Jimmy Whalen had held the Arborists to just three singles, but all

came in succession in the fourth inning, where Bill Albert produced

the only RBI of the game.

Puswatrkylegs 12, Llamas 6

Jesse Westgaard homered and Dan Wood singled twice to lead a

Puswatrkylegs offense that saw 10 players record at least one hit

each.

Trigg Garner homered and singled twice for the Llamas.

Wednesday League standings: 1. South Laguna Hamstrings, 2-0; 2.

Compound Fractures, 1-0-1; 3T. Arborists, Puswatrkylegs, 1-1; 5.

Arbitech, 0-1-1; 6. Llamas, 0-2.
