Victoria, a grey solid Russian Blue, and her two sisters, Midnight

Louise and Halle Berry, were unable to fend for themselves when they

were taken in and cared for by a senior citizen who found them in her

backyard. A lot of handling and love have made these kittens’ motors

purr at the sight of people.

September’s rescue call logs indicated an average of five to eight

mommy cats with three to five babies a day found in backyards.

Callers all hope a rescue group will come right out and pick the cats

up and they will live happily ever after, as most callers who find

them are unwilling or unable to keep them. The fairy tale does not

exist for most of these animals.

We do our very best to return the many overwhelming and

heartbreaking calls. All animal organizations face the fact that the

demand for help is greater than the volunteer base, available dollars

and/or space in any facility. Pro-humane municipal animal shelters

will euthanize animals to make space for new arrivals. In order to

provide the necessary help, we need to ask the caller or rescuer to

participate with us to safeguard the lives of the animals. We call

them “Good Citizen Foster Parents,” and we will provide the

veterinary medical attention and spay and neutering in exchange for

their participation.

Help is still needed for the Leukemia Cat Family. They can live

months or years. We hope you will come forward and adopt them two by

two. Most other groups do not blood-test, and the public would be

unaware of adopting a leukemia cat. Please come forward and support

our pro-quality life mission.
