Residents want Haidl jailed
I’m so angry that this young man is still outside the jail cell. This
young man doesn’t have his rope left. This young man has to be locked
up and has to be held accountable for what he and his two buddies
allegedly did to that gal.

It’s incomprehensible that we would allow Greg Haidl to remain
free, and it is a major embarrassment to Orange County and especially
Newport Beach.

I think that Greg Haidl should be in jail, awaiting trial. He is a
danger to the community.

I just want to thank God for the restrictions, because I’m
concerned for our community and young women who might not know his
face as well as we do in our city.
I have three small children, and it’s so important that there’s at
least one stay-at-home parent who’s monitoring and guiding and
guarding their children’s behavior and creating a world where there’s
consequences if there’s poor behavior up front and rewarding good
behavior.
This is a situation where a young boy has just been out of
control. It’s outside the parameters of authority that his parents
showed him, which if they ever showed, I’m not familiar with at all.
Now it’s in the hands of the authority of society, which is the
police. And it just goes to show you that it’s either our job as
parents up front to do the job right, to the best of our abilities,
or it’ll become a community liability, which obviously is costing
thousands of dollars, and it’s still not even resolved.
But I’m thankful to see the judge stand strong, and at the same
time he’s trying to be full of grace to give the guy a second chance
of staying out of jail until his next trial. However, I don’t see
this to be a very long-term scenario. I don’t think Greg Haidl is a
person who respects any boundaries, whether they’re given by the
court system or given by his parents or given by societal norms. So,
I was thankful to see it. Thank God for that judge to stand up for
what’s right and to protect the greater good of our community over
personal interests of a 19-year-old child who has obviously not ever
learned the value of respecting boundaries.

The restrictions should’ve been put on him 10 years ago by his
parents.

I think he should go to jail for the rest of his life and never be
let loose. I think he’s dangerous. I am just sickened by the fact
that he is just under house arrest with the restrictions. I mean, he
again had sex with a 16-year-old girl. Who wants a character like
that running loose?
