Holly Tears were streaming down the cheeks...
Holly
Tears were streaming down the cheeks of the woman, who was forced
to return Holly after she experienced difficulty breathing and then
began severe asthma attacks. The beautiful, hand-raised, diluted
tortoiseshell -- grey and peach -- was adopted a few months ago and
is now about 6 months old. Holly was bottle-fed by Jennifer Short of
Costa Mesa, who welcomed her back while she awaits a permanent home.
There are plenty of mommy and daddy cats in our local
neighborhoods that need to be trapped and spayed or neutered. The
public should not feed strays without trapping and spaying or
neutering. The Orange County SPCA and the Animal Assistance League
have vouchers that will cover the cost.
Unaltered stray cats add to the feral cat over-population problem.
There are no homes for wild, untouchable feral cats. Stray and feral
cats are tormented by fleas, ear mites and often die from infections
that could have been treated. Feed animals only if you are prepared
to become a part of the trap and spay and neuter solution.
