Roadrunners sprint past Wings

The Roadrunners won their second Patrick Division postseason game in

two days, defeating the Wings, 9-2, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center in Huntington Beach.

Gregory Martin scored three goals and Carsten Beith and Matthew

Iacono each scored twice to lead the Roadrunners. Christopher Romero

scored once and had an assist and Brett Martin recorded 10 saves.

Sebastian Rodriguez scored once with an assist, Bryan Gonzalez had

a goal and Matthew Duran had 11 saves for the Wings.

In other Patrick Division playoff action:

Chiefs 5, Sabers 4

Cameron Monahan scored the Chiefs’ final four goals -- including

the game winner -- as they eliminated the Sabers.

Monahan also assisted his team’s first goal, a first period score

by Kevin Ewing. Timothy Francis had 18 saves in goal for the Chiefs.

Blake Kelly scored twice and Brandon Rodriguez had 19 saves to

lead the Sabers.

Sabers 7, Postmen 1

Goalie Brandon Rodriguez and the Sabers defense limited the

Postmen to a single goal, which came in the first period when Brandon

Weiss scored off an assist by Eric Pace.

Blake Kelly, Kenny Hutchinson and Nathan Bergeron scored two goals

each to pace the Sabers on offense. Kyle Kelly accounted for the

seventh goal.

Blake Kelly led the team with four assists while Bergeron, Kyle

Kelly and Aaron Nguyen each had one.

Adam Daley had 26 saves for the Postmen.

Wings 7, Spiders 1

The Wings rolled to a 4-0 first-period advantage and skated to

victory.

Matty Nolan and Bryan Gonzalez each scored twice for the Wings

while Aaron Fulmer, Sebastian Rodriguez and Cooper Watson had one

goal each. Fulmer also tacked on three assists while Nolan, Watson

and Alex Litten each had an assist.

Matthew Duran finished with 19 saves.

Eric Freese scored off an Anthony Ellis feed and Rory Folsom had

25 saves for the Spiders.

Chiefs 5, Timberwolves 3

Nicholas Estrada scored three goals and the Chiefs overcame an

early one-goal deficit to advance.

Cameron Monahan finished with a goal and four assists, Michael

Thistle scored once and Drew Bertoni had an assist. Timothy Francis

recorded 27 saves for the Chiefs.

The Timberwolves got a goal and an assist from Jacob Gordon, goals

by Adam Bosch and Wesley Keizer, and 24 saves from Avi Press.

Roadrunners 7, Kings 4

Gregory Martin posted four goals and an assist to lead the

Roadrunners.

Carsten Beith scored twice and had an assist, Christian Beith

scored once and had an assist, and Matthew Iacono, David Daley and

Michael Iacono each had an assist.

Brett Martin had 26 saves.

For the Kings, Neil Patel scored twice and Nathaniel Jones and

Brandon Mohl each scored once. Greg Weaver, Drake Dwyer and Raffi

Tchekmedyian each had assists and Matt Bodziak had 28 saves.
