$100,000 in damage caused by early fire
An early morning garage fire in Costa Mesa on Thursday caused
about $115,000 of structural and property damage, fire officials
said.
Firefighters responded to the call, which came in at about 3 a.m.
in the 1100 block of Boise Way. The attached garage was fully
engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Battalion Chief Chris
Riley said.
The residents had escaped without injuries before fire crews got
there, he said. The fire did not spread into the home, Riley said.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire in about 10 minutes, he
said.
All three vehicles parked in the garage were severely damaged,
Riley said. Officials don’t know what caused the fire or where it
originated yet. The fire is under investigation.
