Wildcats dispatch ‘Trotters

Kathleen Etuale led the Newport-Mesa Wildcats with 25 points while

Kelly Heenan added eight points for a 42-32 victory over the

Globetrotters in girls fifth- and sixth-grade National Junior

Basketball action.

Kassie Stratton led the Globetrotters with 12 points followed by

eight from Duran Sharp.

In other games:

* Shock 40, Mavericks 24: Kadee Malone led the Shock with 16

points while Ellie Nadal poured in 10 to go with 10 assists.

Emily Brown led the Mavericks with eight points while Catherine

Sullivan added six.

* Lakers 36, Pirates 12: LiAnne Sarisuk powered the Lakers with 12

points to go with six points by Samantha Archie.

Lauren Dippolito led the Pirates with six points.

In girls third- and fourth-grade play:

* Celtics 23, Sparks 8: Shannon Griffin led the Celtics with 12

points while Dana DeMiranda scored a career-high four points for the

winners.

Addie Richley led the Sparks with five points.

* Gold Rush 27, Razz Ma Tazz 13: Nikki Bourchard and Cassidy

Napolitano each scored eight points to lead the Gold Rush. Marissa

Hergott added five points to go with four from Mary McKennon.

Mae Ling Choquette led the Razz Ma Tazz with five points.

* Raptors 28, Sisters of Hoop 14: Elissa Schilling tallied 12

points followed by Amanda Parril’s five points for the Raptors, who

led the entire game.

Ava Soleimany led the Sisters of Hoop with 11 points.

* Liquidators 28, Trojans 19: Asia Andry scored eight points to

lead the Liquidators while Taylor Stefano and Marie Fitch each added

five points. Brooke Migliori scored four points for the winners.

Gabby Carpenter led the Trojans with eight points followed by four

each from Claire McKennon and Katherine Schneider.

CdM All-Stars rolling

* SOCCER: The Corona Del Mar Italian Gold All-Star under-10 soccer

team posted its fifth straight win with a 2-1 upset over first-place

Tustin, 2-1, Saturday.

David Moore scored the game-winner while Cort Hastings tallied the

tying goal.

Davis Case, Cole Gingrich, Zach Murtaugh and Christopher Von Der

Ahe all provided strong defense.

Goalkeeper Taylor Epp made several saves for CdM, which advances

to the playoffs.
