Lions roar past Montana-Western
Vanguard University’s women’s basketball team, ranked third in NAIA,
improved to 9-1 with a 71-56 over Montana-Western on the second day
of the GSAC Challenge in Costa Mesa Tuesday.
Lacey Mills droped in four three-pointers in an eight-minute span
in the second half to turn a two-point Lions advantage into a
19-point lead. Mills finished with a game-high 24 points, hitting six
of 11 three-pointers.
Kelly Schmidt added 21 points for Vanguard, which resumes Golden
State Athletic Conference play Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Fresno
Pacific.
