Yo-Yo Man walks the dog at Oak View
Students at Oak View Elementary were treated to a special holiday
assembly on Friday sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach.
“It was a really good day for the kids,” said Principal Karen
Catabijan.
In addition to a visit by Santa Claus, children were treated to a
performance by Yo-Yo Man, Huntington Beach resident John Lewis. The
performer demonstrated several tricks, including such stand-bys as
“walk the dog,” “rocking the baby” and “around the world.” At the end
of the show, students were given a goodie bag stuffed with a coloring
book, candy and a yo-yo, along with instructions to perform the
tricks they saw in the show.
Yo-Yo Man’s show was popular with Oak View students, and community
liaison Sherri Medrano said she hopes he will return in the future.
“This is the first year that Yo-Yo Man came,” Medrano said. “We
hope that continues.”
