Festival accepting exhibit applications

The Festival of Arts is accepting applications for artists who

would like to exhibit at the summer festival.

Artists should submit slides and a completed application form to

the Festival of Arts by Feb. 27.

Those interested may request an application form by calling the

Festival of Arts at (949) 464-4268.

The festival is a regional exhibit, accepting applications from

artists from Aliso Viejo, Balboa, Balboa Island, Capistrano Beach,

Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna

Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo,

Monarch Beach, Newport Beach, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.

Artists must be able to show that they have lived in one of the

cities for at least one year. Jurying fees are $25 per medium

submitted.

The festival will run from July 5 to Aug. 28 at Irvine Bowl Park.

Seminar will focus on shooting artwork

The Festival of Arts will conduct a free seminar on how to

photograph artwork.

The seminar will be 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Forum Theater on

the Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

The two-hour session will also focus on the Festival of Arts

jurying process and identifying slides for art shows.

Festival of Arts exhibitor and educator Patrick Sparkuhl will lead

the seminar along with Festival of Arts exhibitor Tom Lamb.

Pageant seeking volunteers for show

The Pageant of the Masters is seeking people of all ages and sizes

to volunteer for its next production.

Casting call will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17; 2 to 5 p.m.

Jan. 18; and 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Irvine Bowl, 650 Laguna

The 2004 Pageant of the Masters, “Portrait of the Artist,” will
