Costa Mesa council cancels meeting

The Costa Mesa City Council will not hold a meeting today.

The council canceled its second meeting of the month, which

usually falls on the third Monday of the month, at its Dec. 1

meeting.

The next meeting will be held on Jan. 5.

Editor announces staff changes at Daily Pilot

The Daily Pilot will see a number of staffing changes take effect

beginning today, including the addition of a new assistant city

editor and Forum page editor, Editor Tony Dodero announced.

Mike Swanson has been named assistant city editor. Swanson will

organize and edit all the feature pages as well as assist City Editor

Danette Goulet in the day-to-day editing of the Daily Pilot and its

sister paper the Huntington Beach Independent.

Swanson is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach and Orange Coast

College. He has been a reporter for Times Community News and worked

as an editorial assistant for the Los Angeles Times, Orange County

Edition.

Paul Saitowitz, who has been handling much of the feature pages,

will assist Swanson with those pages but will now spend part of his

time writing some of the weekly lifestyle and arts and entertainment

features.

Finally, Lolita Harper has been named the Forum page editor for

the Pilot. She will continue to write her Thinking Allowed column for

Wednesdays and Fridays.
