Centralia too much for Orange Coast

Centralia College of Washington never trailed and defeated Orange

Coast College, 61-45, in the semifinals of the Cuesta tournament in

San Luis Obispo Friday.

A layup by Coast forward Alisa Carrillo cut the Centralia (4-0)

lead to 44-40 with five minutes left, but OCC got no closer. Carrillo

led Coast (4-5) with 20 points while Amy Shaw tallied nine to go with

six points by Rhondi Naff. Lauren Stepanski tallied four points to go

with three points apiece by Kirsten Von Tungeln and Ruby Viloria.

Stepanski lied Coast with 11 rebounds.

The Pirates will play for third place at 2 p.m. today against an

opponent yet to be determined Friday night.
