Courtesy Auto Body continued to hold onto the top spot in the Men’s

Fall 16 Slow Pitch Softball League, but Ganahl Lumber and Sandpiper

also picked up victories to establish their positing in the league

standings.

Ganahl Lumber 5, Good, Bad and Ugly 0

In the opening game of a tripleheader at Riddle Field, Ganahl

Lumber scored a shutout victory to move into sole possession of

second-place.

The hitting Robert Ponce and Brett Stevens paced Ganahl on

offense.

John Mallet, who wasn’t scheduled to start on the mound, pitched a

strong game for Good, Bad and Ugly.

Mark Christy knocked in four runs and Scott Bakkum and Dave

McKinley each hit home runs to power Courtesy Auto Body to its fifth

consecutive win.

Sandpiper 9, Solag Hamstrings 4

Ryan Neptune, who came into the contest averaging two home runs

per game, matched that average by belting a pair -- including a grand

slam -- as Sandpiper subdued and enthusiastic Solag Hamstrings team.

Neptune hit his first home run -- a solo shot -- in the bottom of

the first inning. The round-tripper followed a two-run home run by

Jeff Hemighuas as Sandpiper erased a 2-0 deficit in taking a 3-2

lead.

The Hamstrings had taken a 2-0 lead in their first at-bat, thanks

to a two-RBI double by Marc Bennett.

Fall League standings: 1. Courtesy Auto Body, 5-0; 2. Ganahl

Lumber, 4-1; 3. Team Viagra, 3-2; 4. Sandpiper, 2-3; 5. Good, Bad and

Ugly, 1-4; 6. Solag Hamstrings, 0-5.
