The Riptide, an under-12 Pacific Coast Girls Fastpitch Softball team,

won one game and tied another in a doubleheader against Mission

Viejo’s Fear Factor Saturday.

The Riptide recorded a 15-4 victory in the nightcap with Leslee

Kaczmarek generating three hits and scoring three runs.

Triples by Amanda Ring and Amy Smith helped the offense.

Lauren Tofia pitched a five-inning complete game with eight

strikeouts with Brieanna Ramirez as catcher.

Brittany Martinez, Jessica Brockett, Courtney Francis and Adele

DeBatz also provided hits for the Riptide.

The Riptide and Fear Factor dueled to a 10-10 deadlock in the

first game Saturday.

Shortstop Amy Smith caught a line drive for the final out to deny

Fear Factor a chance at the win in the sixth inning. Fear Factor tied

the game with two outs earlier in the inning.

Ring, Adele DeBatz and Ramirez all had hits to help give the

Riptide the lead after five innings.

Smith and Francis both pitched and kept the Riptide in the game.
