Corona del Mar High School will host its 30th annual home tour

Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over the past three decades,

the Home Tour has raised money to provide Corona del Mar High School

and Middle School with instructional equipment, computer software,

library books, campus environment enhancement, student counseling,

health services and music and arts enrichment.

This year’s tour features six homes, continental breakfast at

Waterworks in Corona del Mar Plaza, lunch at Sherman Gardens and an

afternoon reception at Barclay Butera in Westcliff Court.

The homes are throughout Corona del Mar and Beacon Bay, with

residences on Jade Cove, Morning Canyon and Ocean Avenue. Two of the

tour homes are on the Port streets. The home on Port Locksleigh,

built in 2002, includes a 22-foot-long skylight, free-floating

staircase and a “negative edge” spa.

Port Abbey Place has a fresh, traditional feeling that reflects

the owners’ New England roots. Special features in this home are the

wide-planked hickory wood floors, a stunning chandelier reminiscent

of a lighthouse lamp, hand-waxed walls in the dining room and the

backyard hosts an impressive evergreen tree, which was planted when

Harbor View was just a farmer’s field.

The house in Beacon Bay is a Mediterranean masterpiece. This home

offers resort-quality living with an Italian flair. The owners were

inspired by their travels to Capri and Mallorca. Several paintings by

Robert Scharr appear throughout the house.

Morning Canyon offers a country French manor. Pacific Coast

Architects, interior designer Wendi Young, and the owners combined

efforts to create the perfect setting for their collection of French

antiques and stunning artwork. This home is built on the bluff, with

spectacular views of the canyon and ocean beyond.

The home tour is a true community effort. South Coast Plaza and

Fashion Island are event sponsors. Local florists have generously

donated arrangements: Pacific Coast Floral, Andrew Gromek Couture

Flowers, Floral Creations by Enzo, Urban Gardener, Oiseaux Flowers

and Fiore, Elegance in Bloom.

Table decor is provided by Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s Home

Store, Anthropologie, Frette, Baccarat, La Table, Hermes, Cristal

Saint-Louis, Puiforcat, Orrefors Kosta Boda and Christofle. Tickets

are available through PTA members, the administration office of

Corona del Mar High School, and Barclay Butera. Admission books cost

$50 and include the home tour, breakfast, lunch and reception -- a

full day of the best our community has to offer.

Home Tour co-chairmen Delphine Lee and Melanie Pritt anticipate a

sellout crowd. For information about the home tour, call (949)

222-1456 or contact Corona del Mar High School at (949) 515-6000.
