The Orange County Fair Board of Directors this week elected Santa

Ana businesswoman Patricia Velasquez president.

Velasquez, 37, was vice president of the board for the last year.

She is founder and president of LUPAT Corp., a real estate and

mortgage brokerage.

Funds available in home buying program

Funds are available for the Costa Mesa Redevelopment Agency’s Home

Buyer Assistance Program.

The program offers assistance with down payments of as much as

$40,000 in the form of a deferred second mortgage to households

earning no more than 120 percent of the Orange County median income.

The home buyer must put down at least 5 percent and qualify for a

first mortgage.
