LAGUNA LIFE

“Enjoy every sandwich.”

-- WARREN ZEVON

I could enjoy a whole feast of sandwiches while listening to the

seven-song sampler Billy Sherman gave to me. Of what you may ask?

Who?

Common Sense. That’s right -- after being somewhat quiet the last

couple of years and making a few changes in its lineup -- Laguna’s

own Common Sense is back with a vengeance.

I’ve only heard the first seven songs off the latest CD titled

“Close Enough.” There is also a new DVD due out.

Common Sense is certainly hitting stride after a couple of up and

down years, however trust me when I say this CD is more than worth

the wait. With a more mature sound, along with improved song writing:

Nick Hernandez lets the vocals blaze as he sings one of my favorite

songs, “Let the Fire Burn.”

Common Sense continues to get better with time. With an already

strong fan base this album should put them over the top. Not to

mention, if you’re ever in the need to see a lot of good-looking

girls, you best check out one of the live shows.

Which reminds me my favorite song is the “Dream Song” in which

Hernandez has a dream that he loses the love of his life. The imagery

of this song is over the top. Everyone who hears it is sure to relate

to this song.

It makes me more than happy that the Common Sense fire is still

burning bright.

Peace.
