Bitterness is reflection of author
Johanna Felder
Since it seems to be the new custom for wives to write to the papers
in defense of the Festival of Arts Board of Directors, I feel
compelled to write in defense of my husband, who was personally
attacked.
Lu Campbell wrote “I have not wanted to get involved in the
ongoing mudslinging regarding the Festival of Arts,” and then
proceeds to engage in the worst case of mudslinging I have seen in
print in a very long time. It really isn’t very productive to be so
nasty and is more reflective on the writer than the one being
attacked.
What I had to say to [my husband] Gene after reading Lu’s
“Sounding Off” was, “Should you find yourself the victim of other
people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities: remember,
things could be worse. You could be one of them.” (Author unknown).
