Stingray Warriors net first victory

Four players got into the scoring act as the Stingray Warriors broke

into the win column for the first time in the 2003 AYSO spring soccer

season by downing the HB Blue Dolphins, 4-1, in a Region 117 girls’

Under-10 Division game at Gisler School.

Stephanie Schmidt got the Stingray Warriors off and running with a

first-quarter goal, followed by Lauren Zepeda’s second-quarter goal.

Fourth-quarter goals by Hannah Pigors and Kim Choto completed the

Stingray Warriors’ scoring.

Allie Meyers scored for the HB Blue Dolphins.

Melody Sainz and Alison Hensley shared goaltending duties and

George Demes anchored the Sponge Bobs’ defense in the shutout

victory.

Arielle Freleaux, Hensley, Jessica Ross, Stephanie Schroeder,

Joanna Steinhaus and Hayley Townsend all scored with assists recorded

by Shannon Bolotin, Erika Longoria and Caitlin MacKenzie.
